It is apparent that I have stopped writing posts about the challenge for a long while. The reason is simply that I failed. That has had a negative impact on me temporarily, especially since I was sharing the challenge on my blog. Failure seems to be a bad word.
It is strange how I usually observe a lot of us approaching life pretty randomly and assume that everything will go well. Although we don’t have control over everything, we all have one thing which put us at a great disadvantage if misused, and that is our mind. When I say mind, I don’t mean just our perceptions, but unbiased perception.
How could you expect innovation and production from those raised on consumerism?
In school: Consuming subjects and curriculums
In vacation: Consuming products, services, movies, and games
In college: Consuming subjects again
After college: Consuming courses
If you have some innate tendencies in your learning, then try not to suppress them. On the contrary, try to exploit them so that will give you an edge or advantage over others.
For example, suppose that you are the kind of person who wants to understand everything in detail.
“Sigma” was staring at a bunch of numbers on the screen wondering how on earth will he make sense of them! While in this helpless state his friend “Mu” came next to him and said:
Mu: I understand your feelings. This seems overwhelming.
Time can be transformed into:
1. Money and Optimization
2. Learning and Investment
3. Soul Improvement
4. Psychology & Relationship Improvement
5. Thinking about how to do any of the previous
6. Destroying One’s Self – Bad Investment
7. Nothing – Bad Investment
8. I might have missed other thing(s)
If we are talking about machine learning, and data science then data usually is indispensable. Instead of reaching the mathematical model by physical laws theoretically, we let the machine learning model identify the patterns which we hope to get us promising results based on our evaluation metric.
For anyone moving through life just wanting to get more money, please think differently. If you want money, a lot of others want money as well. Flip the question a little bit and ask, what value do you want to add? What problems are you willing to solve? If you want money, you need to become a true problem solver.
Today I came ahead to a great conclusion after many experiments with myself. I think it is inspired as well by something I learned from the Deep Work book. I will elaborate more about this idea here because I think it is important.
Life is like a multivariable equation. If you are solving your equation using one variable only you won’t solve it. You won’t necessarily find an exact solution for your problems either. So think critically about your underlying problems, and the systems governing them.
